24 Hour Fitness worked closely with the USOC to plan, develop and outfit the state-of-the-art HPTC, located in East London, which was designed and built to meet the training needs of Team USA. In 2008, 24 Hour Fitness sponsored and staffed the USOC's HPTC at Beijing Normal University for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Like the facility at Beijing Normal University, the new HPTC will be left behind as a legacy to serve university students and faculty for many years to follow after the Games.
"Our team of professionals assembled to support Team USA at the Games are among the best of 24 Hour Fitness," said Liebert. "We are confident that our personal trainers and managers will do a terrific job supporting America's Olympic athletes in their pursuit for gold, and serve as an inspiration to their clients upon returning from London."
To help Team USA train at home, 24 Hour Fitness supports U.S. athletes by providing state-of-the-art equipment at the three U.S. Olympic Training Centers in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Chula Vista, Calif.; and Lake Placid, N.Y. Currently, these facilities support more than 30,000 athlete visits throughout the year. Additionally, more than 500 Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls work out at 24 Hour Fitness clubs across the country. Through its support of the United States Olympic Committee, National Governing Bodies and Paralympic sports, 24 Hour Fitness is one of the largest supporters of amateur athletics in the country.
