PLANO, Texas, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EDS today announced an agreement with the Department of the Navy on key modifications to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) contract. The changes, which modify service level agreements (SLAs) based on commercial best practices, are designed to improve the NMCI network's overall service and efficiency. The new SLAs, which are effective immediately, are a critical step in enabling EDS to begin billing up to 100 percent on individual seats.
Service level agreements measure everything from network uptime to help desk response times and are critical to determining network performance and identifying areas for improvement.
EDS will provide additional information on its outlook and progress on the Navy contract when it releases third quarter earnings on October 25.
