American Eagle Airlines Announces Nonstop, Year-Round Service From Dallas/Fort Worth to Sioux Falls and Rapid City, S.D. / One of Two Previously-Announced Flights from Chicago O'Hare to Rapid City is Accelerated to April 6

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, begins nonstop daily jet service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and two cities in South Dakota - Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) and Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) - on April 6. American Eagle will operate the year-round service with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets.

"We're delighted to add year-round service to South Dakota from our largest hub in Dallas/Fort Worth," said Gary Foss, Vice President - Planning and Marketing for the AMR regional network. "Not only will visitors from around the globe have greater access to the state's exquisite natural beauty and powerful Black Hills landmarks such as Mount Rushmore, but they'll also find it more convenient to visit South Dakota's largest city, Sioux Falls."

"And customers in both Sioux Falls and Rapid City will enjoy even more convenient connections year-round through DFW to destinations throughout American's global network," Foss said.

"Moving our economy forward means moving people quickly and connecting businesses in South Dakota to national and international markets, something this new airline service will accomplish," said U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.).

"This is good news for South Dakota and underscores the consumer demand in our two largest cities. Service to another hub will add competition, which is good for South Dakotans, business travelers, and tourists visiting our state," said U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.).

"Quality of life and economic development require good transportation, and that includes airlines," South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds said. "We are pleased that American Airlines is expanding their services to the citizens of South Dakota."
