OJJDP's Leader Announces $1.5 Million Award for Community Based Violence Prevention -Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Acting Administrator Melodee Hanes announced a $1.5 million Community Based Violence Prevention award to the City of Detroit at a press conference this week. "We are proud to support Detroit's efforts to stop the violence that threatens community safety and all too often robs young men and women of their future," said Hanes. Detroit is one of six cities participating in the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention.
