VIVA Bahrain, today announced that race marshals at this weekend's Grand Prix will be using 4G-enabled devices for an experimental application to better manage the transfer of information. VIVA and Bahrain Motorsports Marshals Club (MMC) have worked together to enable track marshals to convey incident information in real time to race control using the latest 4G enabled devices, thus helping ensure a smoother and efficient management of the race.

VIVA Bahrain has provided 34 mini iPads, deployed across the track and connected to its 4G network. The devices will run an experimental bespoke application developed for the MMC by a talented young Bahraini programmer. This one-of-its-kind application connected to 4G is the first to be used by race marshals at a motorsport race and the MMC hopes that following its successful use in Bahrain, the application can be used for the benefit of motorsport races around the world.
