EZ Bright Corporation, a manufacturer of
photoluminescent pigment in Osaka, Japan, acquired the general use
license of Nichia Corporation's US Patent No. 5376303 (concerning
photoluminescent pigments) in October 2005. Nichia Corporation is
world famous for developing LED.
The demand of photoluminescent pigments is increasing year by year in the United States, since New York City's Local Law 26 requires that all class E buildings whose height is over 75 feet in New York City should install photoluminescent-based safety exits/directional signs by the end of June 2006. Under the situation, EZ Bright Corporation spurs their export drive to US market by showing their strong intention and strategy.
EZ Bright Corporation, concentrating on manufacturing and selling photoluminescent pigments, is keenly interested in their developing ability of the next-generation photoluminescent pigments and their applications. It is said that at peak sensitivity the human eye shifts toward the blue end of the spectrum at low illumination levels. The visibility of their new blue-emitting photoluminescent pigment is enhanced under the dark circumstances, and it keeps much higher luminescence (brightness) and extended after-glowing period than the existing green-emitting photoluminescent pigments, about five minutes after the light is gone.
Moreover, this blue-emitting photoluminescent pigment has superior physical properties and is waterproof. The less-angular shaped pigment particle, because of their new manufacturing process and special particle size classification, makes it much easier to process, disperse into various polymers and reduce machine stress. Also, their substantial improvement of the pigment manufacturing process made it possible to manufacture high-performance and low-priced photoluminescent pigments. The products applying the new pigment contribute extremely to various preservation of social circumstances such as safety way guidance system, disaster prevention, security, and building and/or road materials.
