MADISON, Wis. (AFX) - OfficeMax Inc. and its lobbyist were fined $2,000 by the Wisconsin Ethics Board for registering late, the board announced Wednesday.
Lobbyist James Harff was required to register by Sept. 29, 2005, but didn't do so until Dec. 19, 2005, Ethics Board lobbying administrator Erik Hayko said.
The penalty has been paid.
Wisconsin Energy Corp. also has paid a $550 board-imposed fine for being late in identifying one of the 19 people it authorized to lobby on the company's behalf.
Ethics Board director Roth Judd characterized the late registrations as mistakes, saying neither of the companies deliberately neglected to identify their lobbyists.
