Raza Shah, MD, FCCP, is being honored by Cambridge Who's Who for his aptitude in internal and pulmonary medicine. An honored member of Cambridge Who's Who Registry, Shah plans to expand his practice in the near future to make it even more advantageous for his patients.
Shah has been in private practice since July 1997. He offers treatment for asthma, emphysema, fibrosis, pulmonary HTN, occupational lung disease, allergies and sleep disorders. He has experience in bronchoscopy procedures including ultrasound guided bronchoscopy for staging lung cancer and autofluorescence for early detection of lung cancer, cryotherapy, brachytherapy and sleep disorders. Shah says, "As a native of Pakistan, I decided to specialize in pulmonary medicine because of the rising prevalence of tuberculosis and smoking-induced lung diseases in Pakistan and because of the worldwide rise in the incidence of other pulmonary diseases such as allergy and asthma."
Prior to opening his practice, Shah was an intensivisit and in-house physician at Miami Heart Hospital and Cedars Medical Center for two years. He also spent two years at Hialeah Hospital as an emergency room staff physician and as an on-call physician for Jackson Memorial Hospital. Shah also held positions at Lower Keys Medical Center, Miami Urgent Care Center and the Naveed Clinic and Civil Hospital in Karachi. Shah is on staff at the Orlando Regional Medical Center and at Florida Hospital Medical Center in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases and Internal Medicine.
Shah is board certified in pulmonology and internal medicine. He received his MD from Dow Medical College in Karachi. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut and his fellowship at the University of Miami. He has been medical director of Sand Lake Hospital's Department of Pulmonary Medicine since June 2003. He was vice chairman of Sand Lake Hospital's Department of Medicine for two years. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and American Sleep Disorders Association.
