TomatoBank, N.A., Los Angeles' dynamic, leading multi-ethnic bank today announced that it will host a community development service luncheon for financial institution Community Reinvestment Act Officers and Human Resource Directors. The event, co-sponsored by City National Bank and the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007, in downtown Los Angeles.
The luncheon will introduce the Riordan Volunteer Leadership Development Program (RVLDP) to bankers focused on community development and human resource directors seeking growth opportunities for employees.
The RVLDP trains and places young and seasoned professionals as board and committee members within nonprofit organizations. Through a 10-month program participants acquire the tools needed to become contributing members of the nonprofit community.
"TomatoBank is pleased to co-sponsor this event with City National Bank and the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. As a community bank, TomatoBank recognizes the importance of working with the local nonprofit community," said TomatoBank Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Stephen Liu.
"The RVLDP experience is incredible. RVLDP participants gain a tremendous amount of knowledge through the 10-month program. In addition, participants get an opportunity to apply those learned skills since every participant is assigned to a chosen nonprofit organization during the 10-month period," said Jesse Torres, TomatoBank Executive Vice President and RVLDP graduate.
