Qantas Airways is offering East Coast travelers round trip economy class flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Auckland, New Zealand, for just $998 (plus taxes and fees). These fares are available for travel from June 10 - September 21 with ticketing required by March 2, 2009.
Beginning June 10, 2009, Qantas will offer daily flights between New York and Auckland with a timely connection in Los Angeles. QF108 service from New York to Los Angeles will depart New York (JFK) at 7:10 p.m., providing a connection with the daily Los Angeles to Auckland QF26 service, which will depart Los Angeles at 11:45 p.m., arriving in Auckland at 7:30 a.m.
The daily QF25 service from Auckland to Los Angeles will depart Auckland at 1:30 p.m. arriving in Los Angeles at 6:25 a.m. with the onward QF107 Los Angeles to New York (JFK) connection arriving in New York at 5:30 p.m.
Also from June 10, Qantas is pleased to announce that domestic New Zealand services will be operated by its wholly owned Australian low fare airline, Jetstar.
“Travelers from the New York area can take advantage of these low Qantas air fares and enjoy more conveniently timed flights to Auckland, New Zealand,” said Wally R. Mariani, Qantas Airways senior executive vice president, The Americas and Pacific. “We continue to be committed to providing exceptional value for our passengers as well as improving Qantas connections from our New York gateway,” he added.
Qantas offers a total 46 flights a week from the U.S., including 38 from Los Angeles (to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland), five from San Francisco, a daily direct service from JFK and three from Honolulu. In October 2008, Qantas inaugurated the first A380 service from Australia to Los Angeles featuring aircraft interiors designed by internationally renowned industrial designer and Qantas Creative Director Marc Newson.
