More Than 720 to Attend Educational Sessions and Hear Industry and Government Experts Including Melissa Hathaway
ArcSight Inc. (NASDAQ:ARST), a leading global provider of security and compliance management solutions that protect enterprises and government agencies, today announced that the fifth annual ArcSight conference will kick off with a record number of attendees and a stellar keynote lineup, including Melissa Hathaway, Former Acting Senior Director for Cyberspace on the National Security Council and Homeland Security Council, and Bill Crowell, Former Deputy Director of the NSA. ArcSight also announced that more than 1,500 organizations, including customers of MSSPs, use ArcSight to protect their businesses from cyber threat and risk.
720 attendees will make their way to the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, just outside of Washington, D.C, for the annual ArcSight conference, which will run today through Wednesday, September 16. With over 130 total breakout sessions, 35 speakers from industry, 23 customer-led breakout sessions and more than 30 partner showcases, attendees can learn about the latest industry trends, best practices and emerging concepts in log management, perimeter and network security, and the fast growing areas of identity, application and data security. An innovation track will address the topics of cloud computing, critical infrastructure and monitoring beyond the perimeter.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Protecting Your Universe” with a focus on enabling organizations to monitor the perimeter, network, business applications, data and users from cyber threats and risk. The conference will address three strategic themes:
- Cyber Threat & Risk Mitigation - featuring customers who are using the ArcSight SIEM platform to secure their universe and their best-practice cyber-security approaches.
- Customer Success - detailing customer success stories, technical tools and tips and best practices for maximizing the ArcSight investment.
- ArcSight Platform Directions - highlighting the latest developments and key innovations in the ArcSight SIEM platform in the areas of log management and enterprise-wide protection, including identity monitoring, application monitoring and fraud mitigation solutions.

Keynote address from Melissa Hathaway, in her first public speaking role since resigning as Acting Senior Director for Cyberspace on the National Security Council and Homeland Security Council will speak about Cyberspace - The Next Frontier.
Expert panel: Comprehensive Cyberspace Security - What’s Next? Leading government and industry experts on cyberpower and national security will discuss the issues associated with securing cyberspace to enable a trusted, reliable and resilient digital information infrastructure. The panel will discuss a range of topics including:
- Implications for information sharing, protection and privacy
- Private and Public Sector partnership and data sharing
- Emerging security policy priorities
- Evolution of a secure and transparent government
- Role for identity management and comprehensive monitoring in cybersecurity
