Names Richard Cookson as Chief Investment Officer
Alex Godwin as Global Head of Asset Allocation
Citi announced today that Richard Cookson will join as Chief Investment Officer for Citi Private Bank. Mr. Cookson will be responsible for shaping investment strategy and thought leadership across the Private Bank's global platform and will chair its Global Investment Steering Committee. He will report to Jane Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Citi Private Bank.
Mr. Cookson joins Citi from HSBC where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Asset Allocation Research, responsible for global macro investment strategy and asset allocation recommendations for developing and emerging equities, government bonds, investment grade and high-yield credit and commodities. Prior to HSBC, he spent several years at The Economist magazine where he served in a variety of roles, most recently as a columnist and international finance editor. He received his BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
Citi also announced that Alex Godwin will join the Private Bank as Global Head of Asset Allocation. He will report to Mr. Cookson and be responsible for guiding and setting all aspects of Asset Allocation as well as translating Citi Private Bank's investment themes into offerings and solutions for clients. He will also join the Global Investment Steering Committee.
Mr. Godwin joins from Lombard Odier where he was Global Head of Portfolio Investment. Prior to that, he was Head of Portfolio Analysis & Solutions for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. He received his BA in Mathematics and Computation from the University of Oxford.
