DGAP-Media: Advanced Vision Technology Ltd.: PMP Ensures Directory Quality with GMI Solutions

DJ DGAP-Media: Advanced Vision Technology Ltd.: PMP Ensures Directory Quality with GMI Solutions

Advanced Vision Technology Ltd. / Enterprise 18.03.2010 09:48 Dissemination of a Media Release, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.
=--------------------------------------------------------------------------

PMP Ensures Directory Quality with GMI Solutions

$1.57 million Australian deal for AVT/GMI colour controls

Hod-Hasharon, Israel, 18th March 2010 - PMP Print, part of Australia's
leading integrated provider of consumer insight and printed communications
solutions, has installed three GMI Microcolor II and three GMI ColorQuick
systems as well as a GMI CIP3 Interpreter to ensure print quality at its
Chullora, New South Wales, facility.

The sales were part of PMP Print's comprehensive upgrades at the Chullora
plant resulting from winning a multi-year directory print contract for
their three Harris 9000 Coldset 80-inch directory presses, now equipped
with the GMI solutions.

GMI solutions are modular and adaptable and are currently in use on more
than 4500 web and sheet-fed press designs ranging in width from 10' to 80'.
Providing the most accurate colour control and information, the GMI
Microcolor II and ColorQuick solutions can reduce make-ready waste by up to
50% and deliver a rapid ROI combined with consistence colour quality during
and between runs and a low cost of ownership.

'There were three major considerations for investing in GMI's solutions,'
said Jeremy Boreham, National Technical Manager, PMP, 'to provide more
consistent and repeatable output for our client, savings in materials, and
the data capture to enable printing to standards. With savings in start-up
waste as well as running waste, GMI's solutions deliver an outstanding
return on investment.'

In addition to the Chullora facility, PMP has 16 GMI solutions at 4 of its
print centres along Australia's Eastern seaboard. As the largest heat-set
web printer in Australasia, PMP prints some 4 billion catalogues, 120
magazines, 30 million directories and 24 million books each year.

A powerful combination for print quality and waste reduction

The solutions PMP has installed on its presses provide state-of-the-art
colour control through an integrated approach that begins with GMI CIP3
Interpreter that converts pre-press artwork into digital ink key presets
managed by the GMI Microcolor II remote ink control solution. The presets
are converted into ink key positions and sent to the press units before
printing, hence shortening make ready time and waste.

GMI Microcolor II uses patented, digital servomotor technology where each
servomotor has its own microprocessor to enable precise control. The system
provides very fine control, less than 1% increment for light coverage and
larger moves for heavy coverage.

Once printing, the ColorQuick's press-mounted spectrophotometer collects
spectral colour data and controls automatically the ink density, and other
colour parameters (Closed Loop Colour Control). Using the ISO Standard
spectrophotomer, ColorQuick ensures the highest colour quality measurement
accuracy and consistency between jobs and presses, and enables significant
waste reduction during make readies, and run time.

'We are very pleased that PMP chose AVT GMI as its partner. The sale of
these solutions to PMP demonstrates the great benefits of installing GMI
systems on legacy presses, extending their lives and transforming them into
modern, efficient units delivering high quality colour print,' said Gal
Shamri, President, GMI. 'Microcolor and ColorQuick are part of AVT GMI
solutions that enable our customers to enhance their competitiveness, while
at the same time ensuring production efficiency and print quality.'

Zeitenwende!
