A former Fortune 500 company division director and experienced trusts and estates lawyer who focuses on estate and gift taxation, generation-skipping tax and charitable planning has joined Fulbright and Jaworski L.L.P.'s Trusts and Estates practice.
Glen Eichelberger joins Fulbright as a Partner from Merrill Lynch, where he served as the head of the Family Office Services, a division of Merrill Lynch's Private Banking and Investment Group.
"Glen has a strong track record in trusts and estates and brings experience as a lawyer and trusted client advisor across a variety of financial and legal issues," said Steven B. Pfeiffer, the Chair of Fulbright's Executive Committee.
With almost 20 years of experience, Eichelberger's practice is dedicated exclusively to wealth transfer planning. He focuses on complex estate and philanthropic planning for clients of substantial wealth. Eichelberger also has experience educating clients on available estate planning options and techniques, overseeing the implementation of client estate plans and managing the ongoing administration of all aspects of such plans. Additionally, he has a solid background in overall risk management and insurance planning, family business entity consulting, philanthropic planning and administration.
"Glen is an ideal fit given his unique experience with the financial industry and his extensive understanding of trust and estates issues that families and individuals face," said Jack Allender, the head of Fulbright's Tax Department. "Fulbright's trust and estates lawyers offer strategic counsel to those looking for guidance related to complex wealth succession planning and estate administration matters. We are pleased to have Glen join our team."
Fulbright's Trust and Estates practice group handles a wide range of legal matters for private clients involving tax-sensitive estate planning and estate administration, trust administration, charitable gift planning, advice for charitable organizations and related planning and litigation matters. Fulbright has long recognized the importance of superior legal advice for executors of estates, fiduciaries and trustees. The firm's experienced lawyers continue to uphold this standard by demonstrating high quality client service.
"Fulbright's highly regarded trusts and estates practice together with its focus on client service made it the right next step," Eichelberger said. "I am proud to join such a distinguished team of lawyers who share my desire to provide counsel and service, which exceeds client expectations."
Eichelberger is the immediate past chair of the Houston Bar Association's Probate, Trust and Estate Section. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received both his B.B.A. and his M.B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
