Our fallen comrade, Sapper Brian Collier of 1 Combat Engineer Regiment based in Edmonton, Alberta, returns home to Canada tomorrow.
Where: 8 Wing, Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario.
When: Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2 p.m.
What: At the request of the family, media will not be permitted on the
tarmac.
Present to pay their respects will be Senator Pamela Wallin, the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Walt Natynczyk, the Chief of the Land Staff, Lieutenant-General Peter Devlin and other dignitaries.
Sapper Collier was killed after an improvised explosive device detonated during a foot patrol in the Panjwa'i District, about 15 kilometres southwest of Kandahar City, at approximately 9 a.m. Kandahar time on 20 July 2010.
Sapper Collier was serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group.
As this is a solemn and formal occasion, all attending are requested to wear appropriate clothing.
