Bon Jovi 2011 Tour kicks off ticketing application that allows fans to purchase tickets
RSVP to events and share with friends directly from world's largest social media Web site
ShoWare™ by VisionOne has launched its Facebook ticketing application, allowing users to RSVP to events and purchase tickets directly in real-time from select venue's or Artists' Facebook pages. Users are also able to share their ticket purchases with friends on Facebook and Twitter.
Oakland based digital agency Sparkart approached ShoWare with the idea to develop the application in August of this year. The Facebook ticketing application offers a new way for Artists and venues to sell tickets directly to their customers on Facebook.
To buy tickets through the ShoWare ticketing application, the user can visit the Facebook page of the appropriate venue and click on the "Buy Tickets" tab at the top of the page. Then they are shown customized banner art exhibiting the artist or event on sale from which they can view the event details and select the number of tickets to purchase. The user is given the option for Print@Home tickets, picking up at will call, or various shipping methods.
Event patrons are able to share their purchases via the "Newsfeed" and "Wall" features on Facebook, which are displayed to their "friends" with a clickable link back to the event. This garners more attention for the event and allows more opportunities for ticket purchasing, as patrons never have to navigate away from their own Facebook pages.
"One of the biggest benefits of this new application is that it allows our clients to leverage the powerful marketing capabilities of Facebook," said Joseph Wettstead, Vice-President Sales & Marketing at ShoWare. "The better job a venue does in building its fan base, the more powerful this new tool becomes, and the results are dynamic as ticket sales occur so organizations can start to see an immediate impact."
All venues have the ability to fully customize the event artwork banner displayed under the "Buy Tickets" tab and set a limit of how many tickets can be purchased in each transaction, as well as an overall event maximum ticket purchase. All transactions are completed through the venue's normal ShoWare merchant account and all transaction data is stored in the ShoWare back office, so no sensitive data is stored on Facebook linked to credit card transactions.
ShoWare is partnering with Sparkart to host the ticketing system, and AEG, the promoter for Bon Jovi's 2011 Tour. To learn more about the ShoWare ticketing application on Facebook, please visit www.showare.com or call 866-215-1026.
