Optimal Networks, Inc. Acquires Peak Hosted Solutions

ROCKVILLE, Md., May9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Optimal Networks, Inc., a technology support, management, and consulting company serving the DC Metro area, has acquired Peak Hosted Solutions, a hosted services provider, to augment their cloud computing services offerings. Official documents were signed by both organizations on Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

David McPeak, former CEO of Peak Hosted Solutions, will join Optimal Networks as the Director of Cloud Services. The two other former Peak Hosted Solutions employees, Chris Blocker and Eric Ford, will join Optimal as Senior Network Engineer and Support Center Specialist, respectively.

"David has deep technical and business acumen; Optimal has known and respected him and his work for many years," said Heinan Landa, Optimal's CEO. "He was providing robust cloud solutions before this computing model was even called 'cloud.' The addition of this company-and their expertise-to the Optimal family enables us to greatly expand and enhance the cloud computing solutions available to clients."

In addition to traditional cloud computing services, Optimal will now be offering hosted email, hosted desktop, colocation data storage services, and an online backup solution to clients and prospects. The acquisition provides opportunities for significant cross-selling across client and prospect bases.

Prior to founding Peak Hosted Solutions in 2006, McPeak started IT management and support company, DHR Technologies in 2001. He sold DHR Technologies in 2009 and began growing Peak Hosted Solutions full time. Acquisition conversations with Optimal began in February 2011.

"It was a combination of the right company and the right timing," McPeak says of the acquisition. "I knew that my clients would benefit from Optimal's extensive engineering talent and commitment to service; I also knew that this acquisition would allow me to focus on what I do best-engineering technical solutions for the small to mid-sized organization."

McPeak is excited to lead and expand OptimalSphere, Optimal's cloud services division, and is already working on additional hosted solutions.

The acquisition has grown Optimal's staff to 25 people and their client base has doubled. The company is now managing more than 2000 workstations and over 400 servers. Revenue is expected to increase by 20% by January 2013.

"This is the strategic growth opportunity that we have been actively seeking," says Landa. "The acquisition strengthens Optimal's position in a competitive and crowded market space and will allow us to better serve current and future clients interested in hosted solutions."
