WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - The Board of Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) announced it has accepted the resignation of board member Burns Hargis, effective immediately. The company also announced the election of Louis Raspino to fill the vacancy. Raspino has been appointed chairman of the audit committee. He will stand for election at the annual meeting of shareholders.
Raspino's career has spanned almost 40 years, most recently as president and chief executive officer of Pride International, Inc. (PDE) until Pride's merger with Ensco plc in May 2011.
