FRANKFURT (AFX) - German pay-TV channel Premiere will provide shareholders with further details of its imminent initial public offering in the next few days, chairman Georg Kofler told Handelsblatt.
"The bourse environment is currently good," Kofler told the daily -- thereby seeking to assuage fears of a postponement raised by comments by the head of shareholder Permira over the weekend.
Speaking to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Permira head Thomas Krenz had said that there was "no necessity to sell at any price", and that offers from potential investors were currently well below what investment bankers deemed Premiere's fair value.
In contrast, Kofler said today that "there is no change in the path towards the bourse."
The pay-tv channel, formerly part of the Kirch media empire, yesterday announced that subscribers reached 3.25 mln by the end of 2004, a rise of nearly 12 pct.
