BEIJING (AFX) - State-owned Wuhan Steel Group yesterday signed a strategic partnership agreement with Austria's Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau GmbH (VAI), the Xinhua news agency reported.
Under the agreement, VAI, one of the world's leading engineering firms for the iron, steel and aluminum industries, will provide technological support to Wuhan steel for its technical upgrading, the report said.
No further details were provided in the report.
Wuhan Steel Group, parent company of Wuhan Steel Processing Co Ltd (SHA 600005), last year produced 8.83 mln tons of iron, 9.31 mln tons of steel and 8.73 mln tons of steel products, registering year-on-year growth rates of 10.9 pct, 8.48 pct and 23.56 pct, respectively.
