Shanghai Futures Exchange to launch wire rod, deformed steel bar futures

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - The Shanghai Futures Exchange is preparing to launch wire rod and deformed steel bar futures, general manager Yang Maijun said.

Yang said the design of the two contracts is complete and rules on delivery and risk control measures have been worked out with the government agencies involved.

The next step is to solicit opinions from participants and complete the technical preparations for the launch, he said at Metal Bulletin's Far East Steel Conference.

Yang gave no indication as to the timing of the launch.
