BOGOTA, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Colombian inflation was a higher-than-expected 0.44 percent in December versus 0.49 percent in the same month last year, the government's DANE statistics department said on Friday.
Analysts polled last month by the central bank predicted that December's inflation rate would be 0.27 percent.
Consumer prices rose 7.67 percent during the year compared with 5.69 percent in full 2007, a DANE statement said.
