TOKYO, March 4 (Reuters) - Benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury notes edged higher in Asian trade on Thursday, supported by a dip in equities.
* Ten-year Treasury notes rose around 4/32 in price to yield 3.606 percent, down about 2 basis points from late U.S. trading on Wednesday. Ten-year note futures rose 5/32 to 117-18.5/32.
* Treasuries drew some support from a dip in S&P 500 futures, said a trader for a European brokerage house.
* U.S. S&P 500 futures dropped 0.3 percent. MSCI's index of Asian shares outside Japan fell 0.4 percent .
* Later on Thursday, investors will digest fresh data on new jobless claims and pending home sales. The main focus, however, is U.S. payrolls data due at the end of the week.
