HOUSTON, June 25 (Reuters) - Wholesale gasoline in the
California markets rebounded on Friday as Tesoro Corp
was restarting a hydrocracker at its Los Angeles-area refinery
after a 1-day outage, traders said.
In the Los Angeles market, unleaded ethanol-blend CARBOB gasoline for delivery in July climbed 5 cents a gallon to 26 cents a gallon over August NYMEX RBOB gasoline while in the San Francisco Bay market CARBOB gained 3 cents at 30 cents a gallon over.
Tesoro was restarting the hydrocracking unit at its 100,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles, traders said. The HCU malfunctioned on Thursday and was shut. Tesoro has declined to discuss the restart.
August L.A. CARBOB traded from 13.5 cents a gallon to 15 cents a gallon over NYMEX September RBOB.
July CARB diesel in Los Angeles gained 0.5 cent in a bid-offer spread at 9.5 cents/10.5 cents over NYMEX heating oil. In the Bay market, CARB diesel was a penny stronger at 10 cents/14 cents over August NYMEX heating oil.
Jet fuel in Los Angeles gained 1 cent in trades to finish at 12.5 cents a gallon over heating oil.
Gasoline in the Portland, Oregon, market was unchanged at 13 cents/16 cents a gallon over NYMEX RBOB gasoline while diesel was steady at 10 cents/12 cents a gallon over New York heating oil.
