Understanding that not every client's in-store
technology is created equal, Unicru(R) Inc. today announced it has
joined New Edge Networks' Retail Broadband Alliance. The Retail
Broadband Alliance is a resource and referral forum of companies
working together to make it easy for merchants to migrate to broadband
and get more value from new applications, including Unicru's workforce
selection system, running over their networks. Unicru is among more
than 120 companies to join the alliance since its inception in
November 2004.
"The Retail Broadband Alliance is an excellent complement to our system," said Brad McMahon, VP of corporate development at Unicru. "With broadband, Unicru's workforce selection system can be deployed faster as well as help clients hire the best candidates before the competition does." Recruiters and hiring managers can make smarter hiring decisions faster with real-time access to candidate information including application, assessments, background check and hiring-related tax screening results.
Joining the Retail Broadband Alliance allows Unicru clients access to other member services such as payment processing, kiosk solutions, among others while expanding Unicru's distribution channel. One Unicru client, The Holland Inc., parent company of Burgerville restaurants, is already realizing the benefits of New Edge Networks' broadband capabilities. "We've gone from 13 and 14 seconds per credit card transaction down to two seconds with the network," said Bill VoKoun, director of IT at The Holland. "The faster we can process our guest's orders, the faster they are able to relax and enjoy their meal with their friends and family."
Greg Griffiths, vice president of marketing for New Edge Networks, welcomes Unicru's retail acumen to the alliance. "Unicru's impressive list of clients proves the company is a valued, trusted service provider within the industries it serves. We're honored to have Unicru aboard the Retail Broadband Alliance and look forward to assisting its present and future clients with their broadband needs."
