Faiveley Transport (Paris: LEY) first acquired 75% of Lekov, a specialist in electromechanic solutions for the railway industry, based in the Czech Republic, 9 years ago in December 2002. The Group has now purchased a further 25% and Faiveley Transport Lekov becomes a 100% wholly owned subsidiary. This acquisition is part of the overall strategy of integrating electronics and electromechanics, which began last year with the creation of the activity, Power, Information & Control. The objective of integrating components and sub systems into one system offering, is to enable the Faiveley Transport Group to manage the power on a train through all stages, starting with current collection through to energy conversion, distribution and energy storage (excluding traction).
