Allison+Partnersannounced today that Trudi Boyd has been named as general manager of its Washington, D.C. office. She will focus on driving growth, enhancing client service and managing the business operations.
A veteran communications strategist, Boyd joins Allison+Partners following nearly 14 years at FTI Consulting and most recently was managing director of the Health & Life Sciences practice. In her role as GM, Boyd will leverage her expertise in public affairs consulting, legislative and regulatory program planning, crisis management, coalition management and media training to expand the firm's public affairs practice.

Boyd has worked with several major corporations and trade associations to develop and execute communications programs, including GE Foundation, the Animal Health Industry, Kraft Foods, International Dairy Foods Association, PhRMA, Pernod Ricard, the Sweetener Users Association, Biotechnology Industry Organization, Grocery Manufacturers of America, The Medicines Company and the American Council for Fitness and Nutrition.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Boyd served as the director of media relations for The National Association of Manufacturers. There she coordinated national and grassroots media and coalitions, and was responsible for message development, strategy and execution. She also spent several years on Capitol Hill as a chief of staff and director of communications for former U.S. Representative Larry Combest (R-TX). She began her career in broadcast journalism in Texas and served as both news director and on-air anchor prior to moving to Washington, D.C.
Boyd has a B.A. in journalism from Texas Tech University. In 2009, she was honored with the Outstanding Alumni award from the College of Mass Communications. She currently serves as co-president of the Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School Parent Association. Boyd resides in Alexandria, VA with her husband Fran Boyd and they have two daughters, Katherine and Madison.
