Acquisition Strengthens North American Expansion
Cxense, the global leader in real-time data management and personalization solutions, today announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase Ramp's media business. The acquisition addresses the fast-growing video publishing, personalization, and recommendation sector, and drives Cxense forward into the billion-dollar, North American market.
Delivering personalized experiences online has become the new imperative for businesses to effectively engage consumers and increase their brand value, relevance, and digital revenue. The power of video is an essential element to engagement in today's mobile- and online-driven world, and through this acquisition Cxense dramatically expands its market opportunity, with a strong focus on servicing the billion-dollar digital video advertising market in the United States.
Ramp media's SaaS-based video platform delivers a patented and comprehensive solution for indexing, tagging, search, and publishing of online video content. The platform features unique capabilities, which drive increased discovery, engagement, and monetization of premium video assets across hundreds of tier-one media sites in North America. Cxense will now also make the Ramp video technology available globally across its customer base.
The Cxense customer list, which already includes some of the biggest names in media such as Gannett (USA Today), The Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian, is further strengthened through this acquisition by premium clients such as ABCNews, Fox Sports, Meredith Digital, and Comcast following the acquisition.
"By combining Cxense's real-time data management, analytics, and personalization expertise with Ramp's best of breed video and search solutions, we believe we have the strongest offering on the market when it comes to driving video engagement and revenue," said Tom Wilde, CEO of Ramp, who will become Cxense General Manager, Americas, upon the closing of the transaction.
"Video is the fastest growing segment of the online advertising market and being able to engage your audience and drive more views means driving more revenue," said Ståle Bjørnstad, CEO of Cxense. "By acquiring Ramp's media business, we will be in the strongest position to help publishers and digital businesses world-wide maximize the value of their video assets across their properties."
This is the second acquisition for Cxense in 2015, following the July 3rd acquisition of U.S. based Maxifier, a leading advertising optimization business. The acquisition also expands Cxense's presence in North America by adding Boston to its existing U.S. offices in New York and Miami.
The Ramp video solutions will be available from Cxense immediately after the closing of the transaction. The new integrated product suite will be showcased at the Cxense Experience event in Miami on November 12-13, 2015.
