TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - The monetary base in Japan was up 3.1 percent on year in October, the Bank of Japan said on Tuesday - coming in at 517.100 trillion yen.
That's up from the 3.0 percent increase in September.
Banknotes in circulation rose an annual 2.3 percent, while coins in circulation gained 2.2 percent. Current account balances jumped 3.3 percent, including a 3.0 percent spike in reserve balances.
The adjusted monetary base was up 6.8 percent on year.
