LONDON (dpa-AFX) - British beverage company A.G. BARR p.l.c. (BAG.L) announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Rio soft drinks brand owner Rio Tropical Ltd. from Hall and Woodhouse Ltd. for 12.3 million pounds in an all-cash deal.
The tropical fruit brand Rio has been marketed, distributed and sold on an exclusive license basis by A.G. BARR's Boost Drinks division.
As per the company, the transaction is not expected to have a significant impact on the company's profit for the current financial year ending January 2024.
The acquisition is entirely funded from the company's strong net cash position.
On Monday, A.G. BARR shares closed at 506 pence up 0.60% in London.
