NYAB has signed an agreement with A-Train to expand the Arlanda express maintenance depot in Sigtuna Municipality, Sweden. The project will be delivered as a turnkey contract and is scheduled for completion in April 2028.
A-Train is investing in new trains for the Arlanda express service. The new trains are longer than the current fleet, creating a need to expand the existing depot facilities to accommodate future capacity requirements.
NYAB's scope includes the expansion of the existing train maintenance depot, covering earthworks, construction works and related installations under the turnkey contract. Construction will commence immediately and will be carried out in an operational environment where ongoing depot activities must be maintained throughout the project period.
"We are very pleased to have been entrusted with this project by A-Train. It combines several of NYAB's core strengths in railway environments, concrete works and industrial construction. At the same time, the works will be carried out with great consideration for the ongoing operations at the depot, which places high demands on planning and coordination throughout the project," says Stefan Holmqvist, Work Manager at NYAB.
The project will be carried out at A-Train's maintenance depot for Arlanda express in Sigtuna Municipality. The facility is used for the maintenance and servicing of trains operating between Stockholm Central Station and Arlanda Airport.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction price.?
