Solar energy was the leading source of electricity in Spain during July for the fourth consecutive month. Data published by Spanish electricity company Red Eléctrica shows solar produced 7,696 GWh in July, representing a new all-time high for monthly solar generation and contributing 28.3% of the national electricity mix. Record solar generation helped drive total renewable generation to a monthly record of 14,699 GWh in July, equivalent to 54.1% of all electricity generated in Spain.
