Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad: SCIB Records RM6.31 Million Q2 FY2026 PAT as Strategic Transformation Advances

KUCHING, MY / ACCESS Newswire / August 24, 2026 / Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad ("SCIB" or the "Company"), a construction and EPCC specialist, recorded a profit after tax ("PAT") of RM6.31 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2026 ("Q2 FY2026"), on Group revenue of RM48.42 million. Profit before tax ("PBT") stood at RM6.62 million, while profit attributable to owners of the Company was RM6.26 million, translating into earnings per share of 0.91 sen.

Under continuing operations, SCIB recorded revenue of RM24.74 million and PAT of RM4.22 million. The manufacturing business, which was classified as a discontinued operation following the disposal of SCIB Concrete Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. ("SCM") contributed PAT of RM2.08 million up to the completion of the disposal on 22 May 2026.

The quarter also included a RM12.55 million gain on the disposal of SCM. The disposal forms part of SCIB's strategic realignment towards a more streamlined Construction and Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning ("EPCC") group. The Company remains focused on strengthening the quality and consistency of recurring earnings from its continuing operations.

For the six months ended 30 June 2026 ("1H FY2026"), the Group recorded revenue of RM107.72 million, PBT of RM7.75 million and PAT of RM6.74 million. SCIB's financial statements do not include corresponding period comparisons following the change in the Group's financial year end to 31 December 2025.

Datuk Chong Loong Men, Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of SCIB

Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman Datuk Chong Loong Men commented: "Q2 FY2026 marks an important phase in SCIB's transformation. We recorded strong earnings while completing the disposal of SCM, which allows us to sharpen our focus on Construction and EPCC. We recognise that the quarter's earnings included the disposal gain, and our priority now is to translate our renewed project pipeline into more consistent recurring earnings through disciplined execution and cost control."

He added, "Our recent project wins in Sabah demonstrate that project replenishment is gaining traction. We will continue to be selective, focusing on projects with sound contractual terms, achievable margins and manageable funding requirements, rather than pursuing order-book growth for its own sake."

SCIB has continued to replenish its Construction and EPCC pipeline in Sabah. Since April 2026, SCIB has secured four project awards in Sabah with a combined value of approximately RM90.28 million, comprising works for SMK Balaban Jaya in Beluran, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Sekolah Kebangsaan Kaingaran in Tambunan, and the student hostel block at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Keningau.

The Group has also broadened its development pipeline. In August 2026, SCIB Ecobuild Sdn. Bhd. entered into a co-development agreement for a 144-unit high-rise residential project in Penampang, Sabah, with an estimated gross development value of approximately RM83.19 million. The project is expected to broaden SCIB's business presence while leveraging the Group's existing construction capabilities.

Moving forward, SCIB will continue to strengthen its project pipeline across East Malaysia while maintaining disciplined project execution, effective cost management and close attention to working-capital requirements. The Group remains cautiously optimistic that its strategic realignment, recent EPCC contract wins and continued infrastructure activity in Sabah and Sarawak will support the gradual recovery of its continuing operations and improve medium-term earnings visibility while supporting sustainable long-term growth.

Achtung, Korrektur!
