Sage Haus Reports More Than 10,000 Families Supported Across House Manager Hiring and Home Systems

Three years in, the company sees surging demand from working families seeking relief from the mental load of running a home

PORTLAND, OR / ACCESS Newswire / September 23, 2026 / Sage Haus, a house manager placement and home systems company that helps families share the mental and physical load of running a home, is marking its third anniversary after supporting more than 10,000 families across its personalized hiring service, digital programs and free resources.

Founded in September 2023 by former enterprise technology sales executive Kelly Hubbell, the bootstrapped company has grown to more than 60 employees and now serves families across all 50 states and Canada. Demand nearly tripled during the first half of 2026 compared with the preceding six months.

Through its personalized hiring service, Sage Haus helps families define the household support they need and manages the recruiting, vetting, matching and onboarding process. But its approach is not limited to families hiring a house manager. The company also offers a Home Systems Digital Course & Playbook, along with free guides and tools designed to help families audit their mental load, manage household operations themselves or bring more structure to support they already have in place.

"Our answer is not that every family needs to hire more help," Hubbell said. "Families need practical ways to get the work out of one person's head and create shared ownership at home. Some may hire a house manager, some already have support and need better systems, and others are managing it themselves. We want every family to be able to access practical support, regardless of their circumstances."

The idea grew from Hubbell's own experience. Before taking maternity leave with her third child, while working full time and raising three young children, she documented everything required to keep her household running. It added up to more than 20 hours a week, including not only completing chores but noticing what needed attention, planning what came next, coordinating the work and following through. That distinction between getting help with tasks and transferring ownership of the work behind them became the foundation for Sage Haus.

Central to the company's model is the house manager, a role historically associated with full-time staff in wealthy households. Sage Haus adapts the role to the needs of working families, often through flexible, part-time positions. A house manager may oversee groceries, meal planning, laundry, appointments, school logistics, home repairs and vendor coordination. What distinguishes the role from task-based help is ownership: recognizing what needs to happen, making a plan and ensuring the work gets done without requiring a parent to continually assign and monitor it.

"You can hand someone a list of chores, but you are still responsible for making the list," Hubbell said. "What we hear again and again is that the hardest household chore is delegation itself. Home Systems built around clear routines, responsibilities and decision-making authority get the work out of one person's head and give someone else what they need to take full ownership."

Sage Haus is also helping establish house management as a defined professional path. House managers placed through the company typically earn $30 to more than $50 an hour, depending on location, experience and scope, with compensation and responsibilities established upfront. Sage Haus also offers a House Manager Certification Course covering household operations, professional communication, role definition and compensation.
