LONDON, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Escentric Molecules is celebrating 20 years of its cult fragrance Molecule 01 with the launch of C0DE WITHIN, a new campaign exploring individuality, self-expression and the unique relationship between fragrance and skin.
Since its launch in 2006, Molecule 01 has challenged traditional ideas of what a fragrance can be. Created around a single aroma-molecule, Iso E Super, the scent was designed to interact with the wearer's skin rather than follow the conventional structure of top, heart and base notes. Two decades later, Molecule 01 remains at the heart of Escentric Molecules' philosophy: fragrance should complement the wearer, rather than define them.
C0DE WITHIN brings together three individuals from different creative worlds: Emirati-Egyptian musician Mayah Alkhateri, London-based performance artist Alfie Sibthorpe of Rat Section, and American model, actress and artist Soap Collins. Directed by Paris-based creative studio Services Généraux, the campaign explores how the same fragrance can be experienced differently by every wearer, influenced by skin chemistry, environment and individual identity.
The campaign unfolds across three chapters. SKIN explores the moment fragrance meets the body; FORCE FIELD considers scent as an invisible extension of personal identity; and SHARED CODE brings the three protagonists together, highlighting the connection between individuals united by their approach to self-expression.
Reflecting on Molecule 01's impact, co-founder and perfumer Geza Schoen says: "Molecule 01 played a key role in shifting the narrative around what a fragrance can be. But we made a single aroma-molecule, Iso E Super, the star. Molecule 01 made aroma-chemicals sexy. It disrupted the status quo and opened the door to a whole new way of thinking about scent."
