BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China Mobile Communications Corp will launch caller-pays mobile phone service in Tibet beginning today, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
Zhuo Feng, deputy general manager of China Mobile Tibet, was quoted as saying that Tibet will be the first region to launch a caller-pays scheme.
'Tariffs are expected to decrease by over 30 pct after the move, and we will improve profit margins by expanding the customer base,' Zhuo said.
Current arrangements in China require caller and receiver to share the cost of the call.
