JP MORGAN ASSET MANAGEMENT
The unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co appointed Raj Guttha as vice president of its Columbus-based insurance solutions team. He joins from A.M. Best.
MBA LAZARD
The investment banking firm appointed Gregorio Charnas as chief executive. Charnas succeeds Alejandro F. Reynal.
COMMERZBANK CORPORATES & MARKETS
The corporate and investment banking segment of Commerzbank AG hired Anthony Karydakis as a senior economist. He joins from NYU Stern Graduate School of Business where he was an Adjunct Professor.
BAILLIE GIFFORD
The Edinburgh-based investment manager named Gerald Smith as chief investment officer with effect from April 2011. The firm also hired Tom Coutts as head of the European equity team.
SUN LIFE FINANCIAL
The Canadian insurer said president Jon Boscia is retiring, and will join the company's board of directors. Boscia is expected to retire in the first quarter of 2011.
GENWORTH FINANCIAL
The financial security firm appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer Patrick Kelleher as president and chief executive officer of its retirement and protection segment. The firm also named Kevin Walker as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the segment. Walker joins from Allianz SE.
CROSSBRIDGE CAPITAL
The boutique wealth management adviser hired Serkan Gur and Atilla Uygun to develop its presence in Turkey. Both join from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
JARDINE LLOYD THOMPSON
The insurance broker hired Michael Silcock to its financial risks business. Silcock joins from Aon, where he was head of global professions.
BLACKROCK INC
The asset manager has hired Ian Winship to its sterling fundamental fixed income team in London, as a senior portfolio manager. Winship joins from Brevan Howard, Europe's largest hedge fund firm.
EIM GROUP
The hedge funds manager named John Ward the head of operational due diligence on Wednesday. Ward will join EIM on Nov.8 from Nomura Funds Research and Technologies America , and will be based in New York.
UBS
UBS Wealth Management Americas hired 24 advisers from rival firms on October 1, said a UBS spokeswoman on Wednesday. Ten of the new recruits came from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, including John Kelly and Michael Rinaldo who joined UBS in Bedminster, New Jersey.
