WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - East West Bancorp (EWBC) released a profit for its second quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line came in at $103.28 million, or $0.71 per share. This was higher than $98.75 million, or $0.68 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.69 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 11.5% to $253.58 million. This was up from $227.49 million last year.
