BRUSSELS (dpa-AFX) - At 5.00 am ET Friday, Eurostat is set to publish euro area unemployment data for November. The jobless rate is expected to rise to 8.5 percent from 8.4 percent in October.
Ahead of the data, the euro weakened against its major rivals.
The euro was worth 127.03 against the yen, 1.0841 against the franc, 1.2234 against the greenback and 0.8997 against the pound at 4:55 am ET.
