Orlando City Baseball Dreamers, LLC: The Orlando Dreamers Detail Community Impact Plan During Their Presentation to the TDT Task Force

The Orlando Dreamers' plan is to give "hundreds of millions of dollars" back to Orange County by bringing Major League Baseball to Orlando

The Dreamers unveiled 10 new renderings of the project which were created by their architect, Populous, a leading global architectural design company (see link below)

ORLANDO, FL / ACCESS Newswire / August 5, 2026 / The Orlando City Baseball Dreamers ("Orlando Dreamers" or the "Dreamers") present their request for Tourist Development Tax (TDT) funding to the Orange County TDT Task Force on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Major League Baseball is expected to begin reviewing competitive bids from cities for MLB expansion in 2027, and, with an Orange County partnership, Orlando is the frontrunner to be the next great Major League Baseball city.

The Orlando Dreamers have secured in excess of $2 billion on the baseball side for stadium construction and team acquisition, and are prepared to make the largest private investment in a publicly-owned stadium in MLB history.

Paramount to the presentation is the Orlando Dreamer's plan to dedicate hundreds of millions of dollars generated by on-site revenues over 30 years to community priorities like transportation improvement, workforce housing, affordability, public safety and other critical needs. Additionally, the Dreamers have pledged to build youth baseball/softball fields throughout Orange County as well as aiming to build the first LEED Platinum certified professional sports stadium in Florida.

In addition to the social benefits, the Orlando Dreamers received updated economic impact data from JLL, the major independent consulting firm that completed the Dreamers' initial study in 2023. Key findings include more than 38,000 jobs during the construction phase, more than 52,000 permanent jobs, economic impact of more than $72 billion over 30 years, and an average of an additional $31.7 million of annual TDT revenues.

As part of the presentation, the Dreamers updated their stadium and project renderings. As the renderings show, in addition to the stadium, the parcel will be developed into a mixed-use destination with three (3) hotel towers (approximately 1,000 keys), Class-A office space, a museum attraction, a multipurpose special events center, restaurants, retail, and hospitality. The complex is positioned to be a tourist destination designed to attract visitors 365 days a year.

The Dreamers are gathering local support, as well. A letter of support from the Orlando Economic Partnership follows the recent endorsements from the African American Chamber, the Asian America Chamber and Visit Orlando.

Additionally, a multitude of city, county and state leaders have chimed in with support for the Dreamers. Orange County commissioner Michael "Mike" Scott recently reaffirmed his endorsement of the Dreamers; State Representative and City of Orlando mayoral candidate Anna Eskamani offered her wholehearted support for the Dreamers; Orange County mayor, Jerry Demings, made clear in May that he supports bringing professional baseball to Orange County; and in December when the MLB Winter Meetings were in Orlando, U.S. Congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds tweeted his support of Orlando as "the next great MLB city."

The Dreamers have been deeply engaged in the Central Florida community through a growing number of charitable initiatives. In partnership with local YMCAs, the organization recently launched its "Hats for Bats" campaign to help provide baseball equipment to children in need. The Dreamers have also supported a wide range of local organizations, including the Central Florida Miracle League, Make-A-Wish, and numerous Little League programs across the region.

Orlando is experiencing a growth boom according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The city is the number one metro area in job growth, population growth and nominal GDP growth among the 30 most-populous regions. Orlando is the #15 media market in the country, having passed Miami, Denver, and Minneapolis-St. Paul in recent years. It is anticipated that Orlando will pass Detroit soon to become the #14 media market, the largest without an MLB team. Meanwhile, tourism continues to surge, including meaningfully increased travel resulting from the recent opening of the Epic Universe theme park located a short distance from the Dreamers' preferred stadium site. The Orlando metro area, the most-visited destination in North America, welcomed almost 80 million tourists in 2025, and revenues from the Tourist Development Tax again set an all-time record for the most recent fiscal year at approximately $384.6 million dollars.

Achtung, Korrektur!
