WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Thursday, Ralph Lauren Corporation (RL) announced financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
Net income for the quarter was $262.2 million, or $4.28 per share, compared to $220.4 million, or $3.52 per share, in the prior year.
On an adjusted basis, net income was $281 million, or $4.59 per share, compared to $236 million, or $3.77 per share, in the year-ago quarter.
Net revenues rose to $1,959.8 million from last year's $1,719.1 million.
In the first quarter, the company reported an effective tax rate of about 23% on both a reported and adjusted basis, in line with its expectations. This was higher than the 21% tax rate recorded in the same period last year.
For fiscal 2027, the company now expects constant currency revenue to grow by about 5% to 6% compared with last year on a comparable 52-week basis. The improved outlook reflects stronger-than-expected first-quarter results.
Meanwhile, the company sees constant currency revenue grow by about 5% to 6% for the second quarter, reflecting mid-single-digit growth.
In the pre-market hours, RL is trading at $379.50, down 0.34 percent on the NYSE.
