LONDON (dpa-AFX) - JD Sports Fashion Plc (JD.L), a retailer of branded sports fashion, Friday announced that it has appointed Peter Agnefjall as its chair of the board, effective September 1.
Agnefjall succeeds Darren Shapland who is serving as the interim chair since July after the previous chair stepped down.
Peter Agnefjall built his career of more than two decades at IKEA Group, rising to President and CEO between 2013 and 2017. Subsequently, he served as the chair of Ahold Delhaize from 2021 to 2025. He is currently non-executive director of WPP and was a member of the board of directors at Orkla from 2018 to 2026.
On Thursday, shares closed at 93.50 pence, up 0.75% on the London Stock Exchange.
