CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Australian safety products manufacturer Ansell Ltd. (ANSLF, ANN.AX) on Monday reported significantly higher profit in fiscal 2026, benefited by growth in sales. Further, the company announced dividend, and plan to continue existing share buyback. Looking ahead, the firm projects increased adjusted earnings in fiscal 2027.
In Australia, the shares were gaining around 8.93 percent, trading at A$38.02.
In the full year, net profit surged 105.3 percent to $208.6 million from last year's $101.6 million. Earnings per share were 146.0 US cents, up 109 percent from 69.9 US cents last year.
Adjusted net profit after tax reached $212.3 million, up 15.8 percent from $183.3 million in the prior year. Adjusted earnings per share of 148.6 cents grew 17.8 percent from 126.1 cents a year ago.
Earnings before interest and tax or EBIT climbed 74.3 percent from last year to $320.5 million. Adjusted EBIT totaled $321.9 million, representing 14.1 percent year-over-year growth, with adjusted EBIT margin expanding to 15.0 percent from 14.1 percent a year ago.
The company generated sales of $2.140 billion, up 6.8 percent from $2.003 billion a year ago. Sales grew 5 percent on organic constant currency basis.
Strong momentum in strategic markets drove performance, with Cleanroom sales in the scientific vertical growing 10 percent on an adjusted basis, and US sales expanding 10 percent on an adjusted basis. Sales growth accelerated in the second half, supported by improved volume trends.
Further, Ansell determined a final unfranked dividend per share of US41.5¢ at a payout ratio of 50 percent, bringing full year dividend per share to US68.1¢ at a payout ratio of 45 percent. The record date will be September 1, and the payment date will be September 17.
The company added that it will continue its existing $200 million on-market share buyback program in fiscal 2027, with $118.4 million completed in fiscal 2026.
Looking ahead for fiscal 2027, Ansell expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of 158 cents to 170 cents, higher than the prior year's 148.6 cents.
The company expects earnings growth from profitable sales expansion, supported by commercial excellence initiatives and productivity improvements from operational excellence programs.
While acknowledging uncertain global macroeconomic conditions, the company said it anticipates constant currency sales growth from higher volumes and pricing actions completed last year.
Growth will be prioritized in strategic markets including the US and high-growth verticals including scientific and select industrial segments.
