BRUSSELS/FRANKFURT/PARIS (dpa-AFX) - Global markets are trading on a lackluster note on Wednesday amidst a mild decline in crude oil prices supported by hopes for progress in U.S.-Iran diplomacy. Market spotlight is also on the highly anticipated Trump-Xi summit in Washington that is expected to cover a broad range of issues including trade, artificial intelligence as well as the global geopolitical scenario.
Wall Street Futures have edged up amidst demand for Meta Platform's new AI agent, Muse that boosted AI stocks. Major benchmarks in Europe are trading mostly in the red amidst weak PMI updates from U.K. Earlier in the day, Asian markets had finished trading on a mixed note.
The six-currency Dollar Index has strengthened. Crude oil price benchmarks have declined amidst lingering hopes of diplomatic progress in de-escalating the Iran war.
Sovereign bond yields mostly hardened. Gold has shed more than half a percent. Cryptocurrencies are however trading in positive territory.
