The company's bottom line came in at $3.305 billion, or $3.73 per share. This compares with $1.297 billion, or $1.35 per share, last year.
Excluding items, General Motors Company reported adjusted earnings of $3.278 billion or $3.70 per share for the period.
The company's revenue for the period rose 2.9% to $50.015 billion from $48.591 billion last year.
