WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Natera, Inc. (NTRA) on Thursday said its third-quarter loss narrowed from a year ago, driven largely by strong revenue growth, reflecting higher testing volumes and improved average selling prices. The company raised its full-year 2026 revenue outlook.
For the third quarter, Natera reported a net loss of $59.9 million, or $0.42 per share, compared with a net loss of $87.5 million, or $0.64 per share, in the year-ago quarter.
Total revenue increased 34.1 percent to $794 million from $592.2 million a year earlier, reflecting higher test volumes and improvements in average selling prices.
Gross margin was 64.7 percent, compared with 64.9 percent in the prior-year quarter. The latest quarter's gross margin included a 1.5 percentage-point benefit from changes in revenue estimates, compared with a 3.6 percentage-point benefit a year earlier.
Natera processed approximately 1.09 million tests during the quarter, up 22.3 percent from 893,600 tests a year ago. Oncology tests increased 60.9 percent to approximately 339,500, while clinical molecular residual disease oncology units grew by 32,700 sequentially.
For fiscal 2026, Natera raised its total revenue outlook to a range of $3.005 billion to $3.035 billion, from its previous forecast of $2.85 billion to $2.91 billion.
