Montreal, Quebec--(Newsfile Corp. - August 5, 2026) - AMEX Gold Mining Inc. (TSXV: AMX) (FSE: MX0) (OTCQX: AMXEF) ("AMEX" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the successful completion of all drill and blast activities required for the construction of the bulk sample portal at its Perron development site in northwestern Québec. This achievement represents the first major milestone in the construction of the portal, which will ultimately provide access for underground development and the Company's planned bulk sample program.

The completed portal will provide underground access required for the Company's planned 40,000 tonne bulk sample program. The program is designed to generate important geological, geotechnical, metallurgical, and operational data while further validating the high-grade nature of the Perron Project and supporting future development decisions. The portal and associated infrastructure are also expected to be incorporated into the future commercial mine, subject to receipt of the necessary permits.
With portal blasting activities now complete, the portal contractor has commenced excavation of the blasted material. The Company's selected underground mining contractor is expected to mobilize to site in the coming days to complete ground support installation for the portal, following which underground ramp development is expected to begin. This next phase represents another significant milestone as AMEX continues to advance the Perron Project toward bulk sample extraction.
"This is another defining milestone for the Perron Project," said Victor Cantore, President and Chief Executive Officer of Amex Gold Mining. "The successful completion of the portal blasting activities marks an important step toward underground development. We look forward to commencing ramp development in the near term as we continue to safely and responsibly advance the Perron Project toward bulk sample extraction."
Development of the underground exploration ramp will proceed in accordance with the Company's approved plans, with safety, environmental stewardship, and community engagement remaining top priorities throughout the construction process.
The Company will continue to provide updates as underground development progresses and additional milestones are achieved.
About Amex
Amex Gold Mining Inc. has made significant high-grade gold discoveries, along with copper-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) zones, at its 100%-owned Perron Gold Project, located approximately 110 kilometres north of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The Perron Project in Quebec consists of 183 contiguous claims for a surface area of 65.72 km². The project hosts several zones of high-grade gold mineralization, VMS mineralization and 'hybrid' gold-rich VMS mineralization.
When combined with the adjacent and contiguous Perron West Project and Abbotsford and Hepburn Projects (including additional claims acquired through staking) in Ontario, the consolidated land package spans a district-scale 570.94 km². This extensive property lies within highly prospective geology favourable for both high-grade gold and VMS mineralization.
The Project benefits from excellent infrastructure: it is accessible by a year-round road, located just 30 minutes from an airport, and approximately 6.5 km from the Town of Normétal. It is also in close proximity to several processing plants owned by major gold producers.
