CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Hopes of a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz lifted market sentiment early on Wednesday. Mixed earnings updates from the corporate sector also swayed sentiment. AI spending concerns however lingered, dragging down SpaceX more than 8 percent.
Wall Street Futures are trading above the flatline, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 have both touched a record high. Major benchmarks in Europe are trading in mildly positive territory. Earlier in the day, major Asian markets finished trading on a positive note.
The six-currency Dollar Index has slipped. Bond yields are trading in a mixed fashion. Crude oil prices are trading above the flatline. Gold has rallied emphatically. Cryptocurrencies are trading on a mixed note.
