TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Nikon Corporation (NINOY.PK, NINOF.PK, 7731.T), a Japanese optics and photographic equipment maker, on Thursday revised its first half and annual guidance.
For the six-month period to September 30, 2026, the company now expects net loss of JPY 2.5 billion, compared with the earlier guidance of JPY 3 billion net loss. Loss per basic share is now projected to be JPY 7.59, compared with the earlier expectation for a loss of JPY 9.11 per basic share. Nikon now anticipates revenue of JPY 336 billion, less than the previous outlook of JPY 343 billion.
For the six-month period to September 30, 2025, the company had recorded net profit of JPY 5.3 billion, or JPY 16.28 per basic share, with revenue of JPY 312.9 billion.
For the 12-month period to March 31, 2027 (the full year), the Japanese company still projects net profit of JPY 10 billion, unchanged from the earlier expectation of JPY 10 billion. Nikon continues to project income of 30.36 per basic share, which is unchanged from the earlier outlook of 30.36 per basic share. The company now anticipates revenue of JPY 732 billion, less than the prior guidance of JPY 740 billion.
For the full year, the company intends to pay a total dividend of JPY 20 per share, compared with JPY 40 per share in the previous year.
For the 12-month period to March 31, 2026, Nippon Yusen had posted net loss of JPY 86.088 billion, or JPY 261.57 per basic share, on revenue of JPY 677.1 billion.
