Grenoble, 10 August 2026 - HRS, a French designer and manufacturer of hydrogen infrastructure and European leader in hydrogen refueling stations, announces the signing of the preliminary sale agreement with Azur Datacenter (Arago Technologie group), a European player specialising in the development of next-generation digital infrastructure, for the sale and leaseback of its headquarters in Champagnier (Isère, France), an industrial complex covering 14,100 m² comprising offices and a production site. Azur Datacenter plans to move into the site at the end of 2026.
A strategic operation to strengthen the company's financial structure and accelerate its diversification strategy
This transaction, valued at between €22 million and €25 million, will be accompanied by the signing of a long-term lease that will enable HRS to continue its operations at the Champagnier site. The transaction is expected to be finalised by the end of 2026 at the latest, subject to the fulfilment of suspensive conditions (obtaining a building permit, and procedures to be carried out by Grenoble Alpes Métropole under ICPE regulations), but without any suspensive conditions relating to financing.
This would enable HRS to strengthen its cash position and accelerate the development of its two growth drivers, beyond hydrogen refueling stations dedicated to heavy and intensive mobility:
- Filling centers: industrial infrastructure for the compression, storage and transfer of hydrogen, to bridge the gap between hydrogen production and distribution;
- Secure Power Units (SPUs): solutions for generating electricity from hydrogen, designed for data centers, critical infrastructure and industrial sites.
Azur Datacenter plans to invest nearly €360 million in the site and plans to create around 100 local jobs in the future.
Advanced negotiations to establish a value-creating strategic partnership
This signing is accompanied by advanced discussions with Azur Datacenter, with a view to combining each party's expertise in developing next-generation data centre solutions that are more energy-efficient - one of the sector's key challenges.
HRS would thus draw on its expertise in the following areas:
- Industrial piping;
- Hydrogen-powered energy systems;
- Solutions for generating electricity from hydrogen;
- Operation and maintenance services.
The two companies also plan to expand into metalwork and steel structural activities.
The signing of this partnership would therefore enable HRS to accelerate its strategic pivot towards new markets and strengthen its position as a European player in hydrogen infrastructure, capable of meeting the growing needs related to mobility, the energy transition and industrial sovereignty.
